United Gaming – Since its initial release in 2015, Dying Light has become one of the most iconic zombie games. Now, a decade later, Techland surprises players once again with the release of a new update called “Retouched”. Although it’s not a remastered version, this update brings significant visual enhancements.
Through its official website, Techland announced that this update isn’t just a basic refresh. Instead, it introduces visual changes that breathe new life into the world of Harran. While many players were hoping for a remaster, this update has still been positively received.

Specifically, this update enhances environmental texture quality. Moreover, the level of in-game detail has been increased from 260% to 340%. This means players with high-spec devices can enjoy more realistic and captivating graphics.
What’s more, Techland mentioned that they’ve made several minor refinements. While these might seem trivial, the impact is quite significant. For instance, floors and walls now feature 8K quality shadows and improved lighting. As a result, the city of Harran appears much more alive.
Furthermore, the “Retouched” update officially launched on June 26, 2025, and is available for free to all players. Whether you’re playing on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, or PC, you can download the update at no extra cost. Fortunately, this update does not alter the minimum requirements for PC users.
Additionally, this update comes just ahead of the upcoming Dying Light: The Beast, scheduled for release on August 22, 2025. In other words, now is the perfect time for players to revisit Harran before the next adventure begins.
