PEAK Creator Slams Roblox Clone Full of Microtransactions
United Gaming – Aggro Crab Games, the indie developer behind PEAK, slammed a cloned version of their game found on Roblox. They criticized the ripoff for its poor quality and exploitative microtransactions. In a post on social media platform X, the team said they’d rather see people pirate their original game than support the cloned Roblox version.
The unofficial version uses low-quality assets and forces players to spend Robux, Roblox’s in-game currency. This paywall blocks full access unless players make purchases. Aggro Crab described the clone as “slop” and voiced concern about young players being drawn to the game. They warned that the copy misleads players and profits unfairly.
“If you can’t afford our game, we’d rather you pirate it than play a cheap clone,” wrote Aggro Crab. Their statement highlights frustration with unethical practices on platforms that allow unauthorized content to thrive.
This isn’t just about copyright theft. Cloned games eat into revenue and recognition for original creators. When platforms fail to act, indie developers suffer. Aggro Crab stressed that their team put years into building PEAK, while the clone gained exposure and money with minimal effort.
Many players backed Aggro Crab. They praised the studio’s honesty and vowed to support the official version. Some even condemned Roblox for allowing such copies to exist. Others debated the ethics of piracy versus supporting exploitative content, sparking a wider conversation.
Aggro Crab’s response points to a larger issue. Game platforms must protect original creators and act against exploitative clones. Until then, developers like Aggro Crab face an uphill battle to defend their work and their income.
