Mike highlighted a worrying trend: predators posing as ordinary players to gain access to children. This troubling pattern has reportedly led to several cases of child abduction. According to Law By Mike, Roblox suffers from three serious weaknesses that make it unsafe for minors.
Until 2021, players could create accounts with just a username, date of birth, and password. Such minimal verification allowed underage players to lie about their age and access unrestricted chat features.
Roblox’s in-game currency, Robux, fuels an obsession among younger players. Rare items that can only be purchased with Robux have become tools of exploitation. Predators exploit this by luring victims with promises of free or gifted Robux.
Although Roblox claims to employ thousands of moderators and advanced content filters, inappropriate and harmful content still circulates widely. This exposes children to unsafe environments, undermining Roblox’s stated safety policies.
For Law By Mike, the lawsuit is not just about pointing out flaws. It is aimed at pushing Roblox to take real responsibility for the platform it operates. He stresses that a company of Roblox’s size and influence cannot overlook its duty to protect children who form a major part of its player base.
